Two time timber house buyer gives thumbs up all the way
Pat & Mary Ward Ardee. Co Louth
Four and a half years ago Pat and Mary Ward bought their first
home in Monaghan and they were very pleased with their purchase.
“We met the builder and we were instantly reassured when he
told us it was a Kingspan Century home. We had heard of company
and knew they had a good reputation so we bought off the plans,”
said Pat.
Pat changed job last year and it was time for a move. He, Mary
and their three boys decided to sell their house and build a new
house where Mary grew up in Ardee, County Louth. “Because
we had such a great experience in Monaghan we knew that we wanted
a timber frame house and we knew that Kingspan Century were the
company to deal with,” said Pat.
The Wards got their own architect to design the house and Kingspan
Century manufactured the timber frame kit. “The builders have
told me that it was the best timber kit that they ever worked on,
because there are plenty of detailed instructions which make it
easy and quick to erect,” said Pat.
“The customer service from Kingspan Century was excellent.
All the staff was a constant source of advice all throughout the
project. I felt they knew my house and were as interested in it
as we were. We changed a few details from our architects plan and
flexibility, expertise and polite customer service made the whole
process very easy. ”
“If I was asked to give one reason why I would live in a
timber frame house I’d have to say the heating. We had neighbours
in Monaghan who had a block house that cost them €1,200 a year
to heat in oil costs and it was always cold. Our timber frame house
cost €400 a year to heat and it was always warm. There is no
comparison.”
Their new house is 2950 sq ft. The timber frame was assembled on
site in mid-December and Pat, Mary and the boys expect to be in
it by the summer. “It is easy to see we are happy with our
choice. We are building our second Kingspan Century and we recommend
them to everyone we know.”
