Testimonials

“We wanted to build a very different one-off house and Kingspan Century have exceeded all of our expectations.”
Ian and Miriam Harrison, Rockcorry, Co. Monagan

Two years ago friends of Ian and Miriam Harrison moved into a new timber frame house in rural county Monaghan. After paying them a number of visits the Harrison’s knew they had to have one. “It was so warm and cosy and a dream to live in, we knew we’d be choosing timber frame when we went to build.”

Well they did choose timber frame. Their new house is situated in the village of Rockcorry in Monaghan and consists of 2,500 sq feet in space. It includes four bedrooms with two en suite, kitchen, living room, study, sitting room, dining room, and a utility room.

Construction on the house began in February and they expect it to be complete in August. “It is great how quick the construction process is. Taking a major decision to build your dream home is easier when you know it can be built in well under a year,” says Ian.

Under floor heating was one feature that particularly impressed them. “When you see under-floor heating in action you realise very quickly how much real heat is lost through other heating methods. Once you have an under-floor heating system, you maximise the energy source and ensure there is no cold room in your house,” says Ian.

The Harisson’s went to Century Homes with their own architect’s plans and are very happy with the end result. “We wanted to build a very different one-off house and Century Homes have exceeded all of our expectations. Our plans are what I would describe as non-standard and they were no problem at all to Century Homes”
