Modern warm house gets the seal of approval

Just over three years ago Don & Rosarie Elliffe moved into their second home in Belgooly near Kinsale. Immediately they knew that they had made the right move.

“We had our own house plans so I shopped around a bit, because I wanted a warm spacious house that suited our site,” said Don.

Don says that the speed and efficiency of timber frame attracted him to Century Homes. “I wanted to have a lot of involvement in the process myself and I found dealing with the staff at Century excellent. Because construction was so quick it meant we were able to organise the work on the house much easier than if it was a block-built house.”

Their house is 2180 sq feet and includes kitchen/dining room, living room/sun conservatory, utility room, garage, four large bedrooms, with the master bedroom having en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.

They found the experience of dealing with the construction of the timber frame kit on-site very easy. “As a result of our experience I would recommend Century Homes and timber frame to anyone. It is quicker and more flexible to build and easier to maintain in the long run,” said Rosarie.

After living in a four-bedroom block built house in an estate in nearby Carrigaline, moving to a detached timber frame house was a totally different living experience. “You couldn’t compare it at all. Our house is our dream home, warm cosy and spacious, everything we want in a living place.”
