Kingspan Century is at the forefront of modern timber frame technology.

Established in 1990, Century is now the largest timber frame engineering and manufacturing company in Ireland. Century provide timber frame kits to both the domestic and commercial market. We manufacture, supply and erect the timber frame structural shell. The advantage of timber frame is that the builder can proceed with the internal and external work immediately thus leading to a speedier construction time.

Century was co founded by by Brian Mc Caughey and his two sons Gary and Gerry and colleague Jim Mc Bride who between them have 70 years of experience in the timber frame industry. Gerry, Brian’s son is now CE of the company. Kingspan bought Century Homes in March 2005. Gilbert Mc Carthy is Managing director of Kingspan Century. The company currently employs 500 in Monaghan, Dungarvan, Tullamore, Longford and in the UK between manufacturing plants in Cardiff and Newcastle Upon Tyne and a sales and engineering office in London.

The growth of timber frame over the last number of years has been exponential. It now accounts for nearly 27% of homes built in Ireland. Century manufacturer over 7500 house kits a year for the Irish market alone. Century has been involved in a number of ventures on the continent, in Japan and in the United States.

Our continuous investment in research and development means we’ve been responsible for most of the technical innovations in the past ten years – a reflection of our commitment to keeping you, our customers at the centre of everything we do.

With each new technical development, many are adopted as industry standards. However, we continue to improve and refine our products and processes so that both you and the environment benefit from our revolutionary approach to home construction. Always happy to share our experience and our expertise, we also offer an advisory service on all aspects of home building, from design right through to completion.

Manufactured at our factory under quality controlled production environment, our unique wall construction guarantees only the highest quality certified materials. With all options varying from a standard 140mm right up to 220mm, we have the technology to suit every possible requirement.

Century are the founder members of the Irish Timber Frame Manufacturers Association which was set up to ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the industry. This focus on quality has led Century to achieve ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 awards also the ‘Excellence Through People Award’. All Century products carry the Irish Quality Association Q Mark and Century is also a member of the internationally recognised Quality Network. Century, also scooped the Industry Entrepreneur of the year award in 2003.
